How CF4CF matchmaking works

A private application, a person reading it, and nothing shared about you unless you agree. Here is every step, and what to expect.

Step by step

  1. You apply

    The form asks for a first name or alias, your age, city and state, a short bio, what you are looking for, your partner preferences and one way to reach you. It takes about ten minutes. At the end you get a reference and a private link. Save the link: it is how you see, pause or delete your application.

  2. A person reads it

    The organiser reads every application. There is no algorithm and no scoring. Your application is not published anywhere and nobody else can browse it.

  3. If someone might suit you, we ask you first

    We send you a short message using the contact method you chose. It contains a private link and no profile details. The link shows exactly which of your details we would like to share with one specific person we think may suit you, for example your first name, age, city and bio. You say yes or no. The other person is asked the same question about their own details.

  4. Only if you both agree, you see each other's details

    Until both of you have said yes, neither of you sees anything about the other. If either says no, the introduction ends quietly and nothing is shared. Nobody is told who said no.

  5. Then you each decide on contact details

    After reading each other's shared details, you each choose whether to exchange contact details. Your contact detail is shown to the other person only if both of you say yes. Links stop accepting answers after 21 days.

  6. You take it from there

    Once contact details are exchanged, the two of you decide what happens next. Please read the safety guide before you meet.

What to expect

  • No guarantees. We cannot promise a match, a number of introductions, or any outcome. Some people may not be matched at all.
  • No fixed timeline. Introductions are made by hand and only when there seems to be a real fit. That can take weeks or months.
  • Free for now. There is no fee. If that ever changes, it will be announced on this site in advance.
  • No verification. We do not check identities, ages or anything else people tell us, and we do not run background checks.
  • Respect is expected. We may close any application, at our discretion, including for dishonesty, harassment or pressure on another person.
  • You stay in control. You can pause matching or delete your application at any time with your private link.

What we never do

  • Publish profiles or let anyone browse applicants.
  • Share your details with anyone without asking you first, for that specific person.
  • Share your contact detail unless you and the other person both agree.
  • Put profile details in the messages we send you.
  • Ask about fertility, health, contraception or sterilisation.
  • Sell your data, show ads or use tracking scripts.

Pausing, changing and leaving

Your private link lets you see everything we hold about you. You can pause matching, which keeps your application but stops any new introductions and cancels any that are still waiting for answers. You can resume later. You can also delete your application, which removes it straight away.

To change your answers, delete your application and apply again, or send us a note using the contact form. If you lose your private link, use the same form. We will confirm the request with you through the contact detail you gave us before acting on it.
